Civic participation has changed the world many times and it is vital for a healthy democracy. However, the level of participation among youngsters in Portugal is one of the lowest in Europe.

ASPEA is proposing a project to capacitate teachers and students to develop projects with impact at a local and global level, concerning social and environmental responsibility. The goals are to raise of consciousness about civic participation, getting youngsters involved in solving the problems of their communities and create a network of schools, students and teachers capable of working together to influence political decisions.

Schools will develop projects to address local and global issues within the ODS goals, that will be presented in regional, national and European conferences to discuss and spread their ideas and actions. Conference results will be presented to decision makers to influence their political choices, empowering youngsters to participate in their community development
